Goals for this meeting:
  • Fix oral report with Laura's suggestions
  • Divide oral report to different members to present
  • Talk to Laura about the exhibit idea and ask questions

Tasks:
  • everyone participated in the making of the oral report and talking to Laura
Questions:
  • How does this exhibit promote innovation in visitors?
-Risk Taking- getting visitors to shake in public
-Creativity-
-Collaboration- visitors can shake together
-Sticking to the end- attempt to shake to a certain frequency that the exhibit will challenge them to do; visitors will mimick an animal and shake with that frequency to dry that animal
  • How can you take away the information from the exhibit?
- thinking of ways to incorporate oscillations/frequency outside OSC;
-clothelines that vibrate the water off the clothes to save energy
-take videos of their dog to see how they actually shake water off when they're wet

Ideas:
  • create new creature from a certain oscillation?

  • Present oral report to Laura
  • Fix oral report with Laura's suggestions

Tasks:
  • everyone participated in presenting the oral report

Laura's Questions:
  • inspired by article ---music?
  • what does exhibit look like? --- needs clearer idea of what exhibit is and looks like
  • example---show us
  • why---how will this be interesting?
  • what is giant smartphone---is that what exhibit will look like?
Laura's Suggestions (To Do):
  • talk to Maria/Gordon on the physics behind the exhibit
  • try to pilot----possibly build a real one
  • talk to designers and the researcher whether there is this technology

Goals for this meeting:
  • develop outline for written report
  • assign points to each person

To Do:
(at home)
  • Each person research their assigned points and develop outline for it in the written report
(next meeting)
  • bring together research and choose important points for the written report for Natasha to put together
  • start coming up with procedure for our own experiment/pilot
  • come up with questions to ask designers and the researcher


Thursday December 1st, 2011

Goals for this meeting:
  • divide up parts and work on presentation and pilot test

Tasks:
  • Yi & Natasha - develop survey for pilot test and contact necessary people for permission
  • Roshni - buy presentation board on the weekend and work on Google Sketch-up for design of exhibit as visuals in presentation
  • Rejy & Monette - Prezi for presentation
  • Isabella & Roshni - make the presentation board after it has been bought

Layout/Order of Video:
  1. dark screen, music playing
  2. animals/people shaking on screen, music playing
  3. walkthrough/re-enactment of exhibit???

To Do:
  • Monday Dec. 5th ---- talk to exhibit designers for feedback
  • finish the video, presentation board, and Prezi
  • rehearse presentation
